Jon Ingham

Jon Ingham is an insight-based Human Resources and OD consultant specialising in developing strategic and innovative approaches to workforce planning; measurement and analytics; technology and HR capability development. He is probably best known for his writing and blogging on human capital management however his more recent interest is social capital (the value of connections, relationships and conversations). He is currently focused on career development and the use of new on-demand systems to help employees map out their careers and engage with their managers and organisations. Mr Ingham is the Author of Strategic Human Capital Management (2006) and is also a contributor to the ASTD’s new book, The Executive Guide to Integrated Talent Management. He is a founder of the social Human Resources community, ConnectingHR and has been recognised as a top 100 global Human Resources influencer by HRExaminer and a top 25 HR most influential UK thinker by HR Magazine.

Jon Ingham's highlights of Economist Events' Talent Management Summit - Part 2

I'm at the Economist's Talent Management Summit today.  It's been trailed, and I've trailed it, as being focused on the mobile, agile workforce.  I have to say that I've not seen much about it this far (and it's now lunch time).

We did have an absolutely great kick off from Will Hutton, but that was about the new mobile, agile business - not the workforce.  And after that, most of the focus has actually been pretty transactional.  We need to engage our people, yes, but we need to go beyond this too.
