Not Providing Protection against Extreme Temperatures

Perishable items, machine components and computer equipment are often weak against extreme temperatures. As such, it’s necessary to provide them with the right level of temperature protection before sending them out. This means using insulated shipping containers or insulation pouches to help them maintain a consistent temperature throughout their journey. Additionally, when shipping certain foods, cooling packs may be necessary to prevent spoilage.

Not Using the Right Labels

If the package you’re shipping contains fragile cargo, it’s imperative that the shipping label reflect this fact. Unsurprisingly, delivery personnel make a point of being extra careful with packages with labels that read “Delicate” or “Temperature Sensitive.” These packages are often treated with a higher level of care and kept separate from packages that can endure a greater degree of wear and tear.
